Q&A
1. Based on the materials in this unit, including the discussion forum and videos, what is the goal that is intended to be accomplished in the introduction?
The introduction is intended to introduce the topic, its purpose, the intended audience, the stakeholders, and a brief background to the topic. In addition, the introduction will introduce pictures which are intended to show the extent to which the subjects to the topic will go in order to make change within the Republic.
For example: the pictures that will be introduced are intended to appeal to logos and pathos.
2. What is it that the introduction is intended to do with the audience?
With the above-mentioned in mind, the introduction is intended to entice the reader to read the entire report, and without any scepticism.
Example: when giving facts, the audience should be able to accept those facts as bias-free and credible.
3. What is needed to be done to accomplish what is described in point 1?
In this research, I plan to appeal to logos, ethos and pathos. Statistics are helpful in governmental discussions; however, because these statistics are directed at human beings who have emotions and feelings, appealing to those will also help. In addition, ethics govern the Republic; therefore, reminding the audience (the government) of moral and ethical obligations is a useful attempt to get them into action.
