Q&A
1. The audience for the larger project
The main audiences are South African citizens and the current government and its members, including potential leaders.
For example, all races, parliament members, community leaders, school teachers, and the youth of South Africa.
2. Who will receive the report of this project's findings?
Current governmental bodies and potential leaders who will be running for parliamentary positions in the 2019 national elections can incorporate the findings from this research into their current planning processes.
3. Purpose for selecting this audience
The reason for the selection of this audience is that all citizens, by law, have a right to vote. The South African government is placed in power by people; thus, enabling them to have a relevant decision-making influence in changing the state of high unemployment among black university graduates. Moreover, the audience will find this research useful to use in restructuring, reinforcing changes, reinstating previously disadvantaged black people in better positions, and redefining the hiring process, which should be fair and free of racial discrimination. For example, in South Africa, the black youth who have gone to university are left unemployed and forced to stay at home with no resources to afford them an economic lifestyle.
4. How will the audience understand the CRQ and project’s exigency?
The goal is to introduce the CRQ and project's exigency to the audience via the internet, write a letter to the labour department, and raise awareness through the word of mouth. For example, the internet has been the main source in which black South Africans beg for jobs, indicating that the proper channels that are used in applying for jobs to companies are currently inefficient. In addition, I have noticed that South African members are active on Twitter and occasionally respond to people’s complaints, ideas and inquiries. Therefore, this will be one of the easiest media to use in passing the message through and instigating an ongoing live conversation.
5. How will the audience know that this is the opportune, right, or kairotic time to explore the CRQ ?
The Majority of South African citizens are aware of the upcoming 2019 elections. They are also aware of the past 2016 provincial elections, which shook the state of expectations. The ANC Party is responsible for freeing black people from the oppressive systems of apartheid; consequently, they usually expect to receive loyalty and votes from the black majority. However, in the past elections, they lost a significant confidence of votes. For example, the youth tweeted and posted on Facebook, defending their reasons for not voting for the ANC party; one of their reasons was the lack of job opportunities even though they had gone to universities and obtained high qualifications. This project aims to show the government that in order to obtain confidence from the black youth of South Africa, and in relation to the 2019 coming elections, they must be able to assure them that they will find employment after completing university studies.
